In Zusammenarbeit mit der in Berlin lebenden Künstlerin Antonia Low widmet sich BETON Berlin einer ganz speziellen Art von Architektur. Außerhalb des Berliner S-Bahn-Rings, zwischen Wohnhäusern und Schrebergärten erstreckt sich ein einzigartiger, postsäkularer Sakralbau aus den 1960er Jahren als „eine in Stein gewordene Erinnerung“.
Für diese spezifische städtebauliche Situation entwickelt Antonia Low ein spekulatives Setting, ein Labor der interspezifischen Kollaboration. Natürliche Nahrungskreisläufe werden angelegt, um in alten Fundamenten eine poröse Grundlage für erneuernde Prozesse zu finden und somit an diesem Ort eine Brücke zwischen Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft zu errichten.
In ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit experimentiert Antonia Low mit materiell räumlich und situativen Gegebenheiten, modelliert Irritationen und Spekulatives in gewohnten Strukturen. Die Interventionen explorieren und montieren unterschiedlichste Verfahren und Strategien. Entlang neuer Blickachsen und visueller Überlagerungen, aus Grabungen und Verschiebungen entstehen Reflexionen, poetische Erfahrungen und eine Gleichzeitigkeit verschiedener Realitäten.
Die Eröffnung findet am Samstag, den 03. Juni um 16 Uhr mit einem Rundgang und einer Eröffnungszeremonie statt. Die Installation von Antonia Low ist bis
21 Uhr zu sehen.

In collaboration with Berlin-based artist Antonia Low, BETON Berlin is focusing on a very specific type of architecture. Located outside Berlin's S-Bahn ring, between residential buildings and allotment gardens, a unique, post-secular sacral building from the 1960s stretches out as "a remembrance turned to stone."
For this specific urban situation, Antonia Low develops a speculative setting, a laboratory of interspecific collaboration. Natural food cycles are established to seek porous basis in old foundations to initiate rebuilding processes, thus forming bridges between the past, present and future at this site.
In her artistic work, Antonia Low experiments with material spatial and situational conditions, modeling irritations and speculations in familiar structures. With her interventions she explores and combines various procedures and strategies. In visual superimpositions, excavations and displacements new visual axes create reflexions, poetic experiences and a simultaneity of different realities.
The opening will take place on Saturday, 3 June at 4pm with a tour and opening ceremony. The installation by Antonia Low will be on view until 9pm.
